Wooster Eagles Raise $67,000 for Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare

Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare is grateful to Wooster Aerie #811 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for its continued donation to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare. Since 2018, the organization has donated $67,000 to the not-for-profit hospice, which serves communities in Wayne, Holmes, Ashland and Medina counties. 

“We’re grateful for the continued support of our mission through community organizations like the Wooster Eagles,” said Kurt Holmes, executive director of Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare. “Their generosity enables us to continue to support the patients and families throughout the community that we are privileged to serve.” 

Katherine Ritchie, development officer at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, explained that the monthly donations received from the Wooster Eagles go toward patient care. “The monthly gifts from the Wooster Eagles make an immediate impact on the ways we can care for our friends and neighbors in the last season of life,” Ritchie said. “We are very grateful that the Wooster Eagles has been such a wonderful partner in our community.” 

Jeff Pinnick, secretary of the Wooster Eagles, said its board of directors selected Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare to receive funds from the organization because many of its members have family members or friends who have received services from Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare. 

“A vast majority of us have been or will be touched by hospice care,” Pinnick said. “The overarching fact is that hospice plays a bigger role in the community as a whole, and our board and membership felt this partnership is the greatest win-win.” 

The Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.) is an international, nonprofit organization uniting fraternally in the spirit of liberty, truth, justice and equality to make human life more desirable by lessening its ills and promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and hope.
